Beggars' Bargain

For four years, Joe Bach and Micah Spurlock have been talking to each other in songs. On Wednesday, July 15, the room gets to listen in.

Beggars' Bargain is the Des Moines folk duo Iowa Public Radio called "a single, four-handed instrument," two guitars and two voices trading lines until you can't tell whose thought finishes whose. Their debut album A Bit Much nearly sold out its hometown release show in January, and this is their first Cedar Rapids date, played the way these songs were built to be heard, in the listening room at The Ideal Theater & Bar in NewBo, no openers, first note to last. Doors at 7, show at 8. $16 advance, $23 day of show.
