Last year, Jared Benson opened for Trace Adkins. This fall, he brings the whole band to The Ideal.
The Fort Dodge singer-songwriter makes his first Cedar Rapids appearance on Saturday, October 3, with a five-piece country-rock sound shaped by gravel, soul, fiddle, and a serious electric backbone. Benson's debut album Save My Soul and newer singles "Runnin'" and "Old Bird Dog" carry the plainspoken weight of an Iowa writer raised on Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. His road résumé includes shared stages with Trace Adkins, Bailey Zimmerman, Josh Turner, Easton Corbin, and Ashley Cooke.
