Southbound brings its six-piece tribute to The Ideal Theater & Bar on Saturday, November 14. Founder James Biehn trained at Roots Rock Revival under original Allman Brothers members Butch Trucks and Oteil Burbridge, then returned as part of the camp's staff. That lineage lives onstage in harmonized guitar leads, a faithful dual-drummer setup, and long-form jams built in the spirit of Fillmore East.
Opening the night is Des Moines blues-rock trio Other Brothers, fresh off representing Iowa in the 2026 International Blues Challenge semifinals in Memphis. Their all-original mix of blues, rockabilly, country, and classic rock makes this a full Iowa-built bill with serious roots and plenty of heat.
